Q&A: Targeting digital campaigns

Today, our Senior Manager of Content & Promotions, Anne Marie Robson, answers another common question that we hear from clients looking for ways to boost online engagement.

How do I get started targeting my digital campaigns?

Anne Marie: That’s a great question! One of the biggest benefits of targeting is that it allows you to create a personalized experience for each person that interacts with your content. From Google to Facebook, today’s digital marketing channels allow you to completely tailor your campaigns to any specific audience segment you can think of. Boost your clicks and conversion rates by taking advantage of the capability to target your listeners’ demographic rather than promoting all of your content to the web at large. Use your audience persona to determine the settings for your targeted segment with options such as geographic location, age group, gender, viewing device, and even interests. Ensuring your content is reaching the right people can significantly improve your campaign results.

When boosting posts or placing paid content on social networks such as Facebook or Instagram, you can easily customize the audience for social ads by setting your target demographic in dozens of categories, from the ones listed above to the interests that a user has listed on their profile. You can even target users that follow pages similar to your own. Monitor insights and impressions throughout the duration of your ads and adjust budget, dates, and target audience mid-campaign as needed. This is a great way to ramp up exposure for your next upcoming event or big sponsored contest.

You can also say goodbye to wasted impressions in your digital streaming! Take advantage of targeting capabilities in your online programming by tailoring your message to a specific geographic location, age group, gender, device, format, genre, or playlist to ensure that it’s getting delivered exclusively to your desired audience segment.
