Monday Marketing tip: Optimize your email designs

Start the week with a boost in audience engagement with our Monday Marketing Tip series!

Today’s advice will help you increase interaction and improve your subscribers’ user experience by using attractive, responsive mailing templates.

For a clean template layout, code the structure of your email using the table element. Also consider using attributes such as cellpadding, valign, and width to set the table dimensions. For a detailed list of available HTML attributes, check out HTML.com.

It’s also important to avoid hard-coding your table width into the template design. Instead, use percentages to ensure that your design can be responsive and will resize itself to fit the device from which a subscriber is viewing the mailing.

Once you’ve created your template, ensure that it will display properly across multiple devices and email clients by sending yourself and a few of your co-workers a test mailing. Not only can this help you catch any display issues, but you may also find any typos or grammatical errors that might have slipped through the cracks.
