Ad Delivery for Google Ad Manager clients
Another thing to note is that breaking news will affect the ad availability forecast in GAM. In a sustained breaking news period like the present, there will be higher page views and thus more ad impressions delivered. While that’s fantastic for revenue, it will also affect the ad delivery forecasting.
Since GAM uses the last 28 days to forecast inventory and delivery, it’s going to show that sites have lots and lots of inventory to sell. Once the outbreak dies down and traffic returns to normal, those impressions will drop off. Please be mindful of this inventory inflation when forecasting for next month and beyond. Be careful not to oversell or overbook. We suggest using ad delivery from the past 2-3 months as a baseline for selling.
