Improve the chances of your mailing deliverability with some of the subject tip lines we’ve provided below, and download our free Spam Triggers tip sheet for an extensive list of words to avoid using in your Subject Line and Email body.
Avoid spelling mistakes & typos
Proofread your email subject line and body and ask a co-worker to take a glance as well. A well-written, error-free mailing subject adds to your brand’s credibility and professionalism. This can decrease your chances of getting caught in a spam filter and boost potential for a higher open rate.
Don’t use ALL CAPS
The use of ALL CAPS in your subject line can not only trigger spam filters in most email services, but it rarely has the intended effect. While you may think you’re catching a subscriber’s attention and standing out from the other items in their inbox, that’s not necessarily a good thing. ALL CAPS can come across as shouting at your recipient and the sight of such a subject line often causes suspicion that the mailing might be a phishing attempt. It’s best to avoid this tactic altogether.
Run an email Health Check
Use the Health Check feature in ENGAGE Email before sending your mailing. If you’re using our ENGAGE Email solution, take advantage of the Health Check feature when scheduling your next email send.
