Today, our Senior Manager of Content & Promotions, Anne Marie Robson, answers another common question that we hear from clients looking for ways to boost online engagement.
What are some good uses for your Brackets feature in Engage Suite’s contesting engine?
Anne Marie: Excellent question! Brackets aren’t just for basketball tournaments in March–there are lots of great ways to use this feature to engage your audience. In fact, we recently published a free Bracket Playbook with over 20 ideas for voting and tournament-style bracket contests that you can run throughout the year. Below are a few examples to get your creative juices flowing.
For the gamers in your audience, consider running an ultimate video game showdown bracket. You could execute this type of promotion with a voting style bracket, allowing members of your audience to vote for their favorite video game or character for a chance to win a new gaming console. Or you could go a step further and hold a gaming tournament event in conjunction with your bracket. Let listeners call for the opportunity to compete in a live contest, where they will face-off against other gamers for a chance to win a prize. Once you’ve selected your participants, run a predictive bracket where other listeners can join in the fun by guessing which of your gamers will go all the way to the top. (Please note that, with this particular example, you may need to obtain permission to use copyrighted games, characters, and images.)
Here’s an even simpler way to engage your audience with a super sweet voting bracket idea! From ice cream to cookies, cupcakes, and more, have your listeners vote for their favorite dessert for a chance to win a gift card or free food from a local bakery, candy shop, or ice cream parlor.
These are just two ways you could engage your members with our Brackets feature. You could also run a summer Battle of the Bands tournament or a voting bracket to determine your audiences’ favorite action movie, Halloween candy or Thanksgiving side dish. The sky’s the limit!
