Monday Marketing Tip: Save money in your prizing budget by running sponsored contests

Start the week with a boost in audience engagement with our Monday Marketing Tip series!

Today’s advice will help you save money in your promotions budget, bring in new revenue, and drive audience interaction through sponsored contests.

Attaching sponsors to your sweepstakes is an excellent way secure additional funding for those promotions so you can stretch your prizing budget as far as possible. It also gives you the opportunity to build or maintain a relationship with a provider that you could work with again in future campaigns.  Local businesses make the perfect sponsorship partners as they can help provide prizes and bring in revenue for your station while strengthening your connections within the community. In exchange, they’ll have the opportunity to advertise their product or services to your database.

To maximize your opportunity for revenue and create a promotion that will spark a lot of interest among your listeners, consider attaching multiple sponsorships to one contest and offer the winner a prize pack of items or services with a common theme, such as wedding packages and travel packages. For example, you can work with a florist, a photographer, a caterer, and/or a venue to put together a high-value prize package that’s sure to get lots of attention from soon to be brides and grooms in your audience.
